MODEL T MUSEUM CELEBRATES GRANDPARENTS WITH SPECIAL EVENT
Grandparents Celebration at the Model T Museum Strengthens Family Relationships

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Model T Museum invites community families to the Grandparents Celebration event at the museum on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11 am – 2 pm. The museum will host this intergenerational program to encourage learning and exploration among grandparents, grandchildren and other significant family members through arts, crafts and interactive educational activities.

As the second annual event, attendees can participate in several activities that strengthen family relationships through multisensory learning. Grandparents will connect on a deeper level with their grandchildren by sharing about their lives, bonding over American technology and innovation and making lasting memories around historic cars and trucks.

Grandparents and grandchildren will learn about the Ford Model T at activity stations located throughout both museum buildings and watch historic cartoons and films in the Theatre. Families can take photos in select vehicles from the museum collection.

The Model T Museum’s mission is to educate people of all ages about the car that put the world on wheels, according to Rachel Hughes, executive director and grandmother of six.

“Many of our visitors connect to the Ford Model T through memories with their grandparents,” said Hughes. “I love it when my grandkids come here because they go from car to car, not only learning about the cars but about American history, and they have fun while they do it.”

This event is included with paid museum admission. Children 13 and under are free with a paid adult admission. (Limit 2 children per paid adult. Additional children $5). The museum is located at 309 N. 8th St.
