Rev your engines and shine your bumpers for the 8th annual Eli’s Block Party, March 21, 2020! This open car show is at the Bethel Church of Christ building, 26772 Capshaw Rd, Athens, Alabama 35613. Big blocks and small blocks, bring all you’ve got to the Block Party! Cruise-in parking or judged-show parking with trophies in 20 categories, including Performance Modified, Appearance Modified, Custom Creation, Off-Road, Motorcycle, Import, Exotic, Daily Driver, Rare Production, and by year. Plus Best of Show, and Best of Featured Class (featuring MOPAR this year!). Our Headlight Hero, a local childhood cancer kid, will pick his or her favorite to win the Headlight Hero’s Choice top trophy. Prize drawings every hour, plus $100 cash every half-hour for registered participants only. Early-bird breakfast pastries from 7:30am to 9:30am. The best goodie bags around, but only available while they last. Sound off and show off at the judged Exhaust Explosion competition (2-6cyl, 8-12cyl) judged by Kris Walker of ROUSH Racing and David Sharp of Sharp Sound. Fire up your own muscles and win cash prizes at the Tire Toss. The Mustang Man Joseph Scott will be at the mic while you enjoy music, vendors, BBQ by Smokin’ Box, at this family-oriented car show in Athens.
