San Bernardino, California - 10/1/2016 10:00 am to 10/1/2016 10:00 pm
The Rendezvous Back to Route 66 came about after the San Bernardino Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Route 66 Rendezvous lost their funding from the City after 22 years. Throughout those years, the Rendezvous brought thousands of people to the four day event. The San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, in 2013, decided to keep the spirit of the Route 66 Rendezvous alive by putting together a two day classic car show held at San Manuel Stadium that brought in fewer cars and a smaller audience. With the success of the Great Race event this past June 2015, the City offered to help bring the Rendezvous back to the streets of Downtown on the same foot print as the Great Race.
We have over 500 cars pre-registered and more coming in every day, for that we can’t thank you enough. We still have plenty of room, so tell all your friends, they don’t want to miss out as we bring the rendezvous back downtown for the second year. Right where it belongs!
Starting the 19th of this month you will start hearing reminder commercials on KCAL and KOLA. They have signed on to be exclusive radio sponsors of the event, so please tune in your dials to KCAL 96.7 FM and KOLA 99.9 FM.
We’re excited to announce that KCAL and KOLA will be airing live broadcasts from the event itself. Here’s your chance to meet Jimbo from KCAL from 1PM to 3PM, he will be there with all sorts of “You Rock” goodies.
AND the voice of the rendezvous for so many years, Vic Slick will be airing live from 2PM to 4PM with his KOLA prize caravan. Come by and reminisce about the days of old.
So let’s support the stations that support the Rendezvous, shall we?
Stay tuned, as we will have details on the pre-check in on Friday night September 30th at The Inland Truck Center, “Old Kennedy Cadillac” building, a chance to dust them off and cruise them on a Friday night then grab your goodie bag and parking assignment so you don’t have to wait in line the next day.
That’s it for now. If you have any questions please visit the website http://rendezvoustoroute66.com/ or visit the FaceBook page or call the chamber at 885 7515.
Let’s make it a great day in San Bernardino.
