The Lakewood Township PBA Local 71 will be hosting our Second Annual “Cars for a Cause” car show on October 15, 2023 at the Shore Town Ballpark, home of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, located at 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood, New Jersey (Rain date: October 29, 2023). Proceeds from this event will be donated to Bikur Cholim of Lakewood, and Ocean of Love in Toms River. Last year we were able to raise a combined total of $12,000 in donations to support each charity.
Bikur Chloim of Lakewood’s goal is to provide assistance to any Lakewood resident or visitor facing medical concerns, however minor or major, whoever they are, whenever, however, and wherever they may be. Bikur Cholim can assist with accommodating family members visiting area hospitals, prepares hundreds of “home cooked” Shabbos meals each week for hospitals, provides community services and support, has an enormous amount of medical equipment available to loan those in need, provides transportation to numerous medical facilities, and can provide advocacy for those facing hospitalization or illness .
Ocean of Love is a Toms River based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Ocean County children with cancer and their families. Ocean of Loves purpose is to assist the children through their illness. They provide financial and emotional support so that the children can experience the “normal” joys of childhood, knowing their lives are significant and meaningful to each and every one. Ocean of Love can provide gas cards, grocery store gift cards, provide assistance with household bills, holiday gift checks, holiday food baskets and Scholarships. Ocean of Love also provides support groups for parents and family members, for those battling cancer.
We would like to offer a limited number of trophies. In addition to 50/50 raffle, we would like to have additional items such as gift cards, automotive related services, buckets of car cleaning supplies, etc to be raffled off during the event.
