Among Alex’s last wishes that his family and friends honor his memory by lending their support to the Green Beret and Special Operations Warrior Foundations. Alex and his father, Frank, shared a love of hot rods and car shows, so the Viola family could think of no better way to honor Alex’s wishes than to host a car show in his name that would raise money for those organizations. The first SSG Alex Viola Memorial Car Show was held on Veteran’s Day of 2015 and the show has since become an annual Veteran’s Day tradition, attended by thousands and featuring cars from all over the U.S. To date, the SSG Alex ViolaFoundation has raised nearly $400,000 (and soon to be $450,000) for the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Operations Warriors Foundation.
